MSU announces new name for Ralph Young Fund: ‘Spartan Fund’

MSU has changed the name of its athletic development fund office from the Ralph Young Fund, named after long-time athletic director and coach Ralph Young, to the Spartan Fund. The move is aimed at increasing visibility of the university’s athletic fund-raising effort to broaden participation in athletics to a wider range of Spartan faithful around the world.

Just as Michigan State University’s turfgrass scientists are busy building the portable athletic field for the Beijing Olympics, the university has launched a Web site highlighting this and other high-profile projects relating to China.
