Hyena research - MSU Special Report

MSU zoology professor Kay Holekamp is considered one of the world's leading experts on spotted hyenas. Holekamp and her students are in Kenya's Masai Mara National Reserve conducting research to answer fundamental research questions in the areas of disease ecology, evolution, behavior and conservation.

MSU doctor off to China to provide care for Olympic gymnasts

Michigan State University sports medicine physician Larry Nassar will be on the sidelines as team physician for the U.S. men’s and women’s gymnastics teams at the Olympics in Beijing this summer when this year’s teams are on the floor.

China turfgrass: Beijing’s field of dreams built on a Spartan foundation - MSU Special Report

The university’s world-famous turf team has been contracted to help China build a portable athletic turf in the new Beijing National Stadium, aka the Bird’s Nest. The turf will support the Olympics’ main track and field competitions and the gold medal soccer match, as well as future events.
